Payment Policy
We want billing to be as clear and predictable as the care itself. The policy below explains how we handle cards on file, what is due at your visit, and how insurance balances are billed.
Card on File
Yamany Dermatology asks all patients to keep a valid credit or debit card on file. This allows us to collect copays and balances without delay and keeps check-in quick.
When you provide a card, we may run a small verification charge to confirm the card is active. Any verification charge is reversed right away and will not appear on your statement as a completed transaction.
Your card information is stored securely by our payment processor. We do not keep your full card number in our office or in your chart.
Payments Due at the Time of Service
- Copays are due at check-in.
- Cosmetic treatments and any other services not covered by insurance are due at the time of service.
- If you are seeing us on a self-pay basis, payment is due at the time of service. We will provide your estimated cost in writing beforehand so you know what to expect.
Insurance Balances
Many insurance plans include a coinsurance or deductible that determines what you owe. Once your claim has been processed and your responsibility has been determined, we will send you a bill.
You have 30 days from the date of that bill to pay using whatever method you prefer. If a balance is still open after 30 days, we will charge the card you have on file. We will send a reminder before doing so.
If You Have Another Visit Before 30 Days
If you have an appointment scheduled before your 30 days are up, any balance we have already billed you for will be due at that visit. We will let you know at check-in so you can take care of it then.
If a Card Does Not Go Through
If the card on file is declined or is no longer valid, we will contact you to arrange payment or to update your card.
Balances that remain unpaid after 90 days may be sent to collections. We may also ask that an outstanding balance be resolved before scheduling further non-urgent appointments. We would always rather work something out with you first, so please reach out if paying a balance is difficult.
Keeping Your Information Current
Please let us know when your card expires or is replaced, and whenever your insurance changes. A card that is no longer valid can delay processing and lead to a balance you were not expecting.
